The reason for this village’s wealth is the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) citizens from Gujarat. They send large sums of money from abroad, which the family members residing in the village deposit in the local banks.

Every year, the village accumulates millions of rupees. There are around 20,000 houses in the village, but about 1,200 families live abroad. Most family members are in African countries.

Gujarati people dominate the construction business in Central African countries. Some residents of this village also live in the UK, Australia, the US, and New Zealand. Even when all members of a family live abroad, they open accounts in the village’s bank branches and deposit money there.

According to a bank official in the village, the substantial savings in the bank’s fixed deposit accounts have contributed significantly to the village’s wealth.

The village has all basic amenities such as water, sanitation, and roads. The people are prosperous and content.
