In reality, humans are considered the most dangerous species on Earth. Among omnivorous animals, humans are the only species out of every three that consume the flesh of other species.

A recent study has shown that human dietary habits impact a total of 46,755 species of animals. Notably, the apex predator, the killer whale, preys upon 121 different species, 83 of which are also consumed by humans.

Interestingly, the most dangerous meat-eating animal in the Americas is the jaguar. It feeds on nine different species. What’s intriguing is that humans also consume the meat of all nine of these species. In North America alone, humans utilize 26,098 species of animals for their diet.

A recent study published in the Journal of Communication Biology, conducted in Canada, reveals that humans are a unique species in terms of their dietary choices. While humans have developed themselves, other species remain either incapable or less developed in this regard. Humans have a much broader reach compared to other species.

Out of all the species of animals that exist, humans do not consume all of them. Some are utilized for various purposes such as clothing, medicine, and other commodities. Certain animal parts such as bones, teeth, blood, and liver are also used. Some creatures contribute to the production of glue, musical instruments, and more. For some animals, humans utilize their feathers, tusks, and fur.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) provides a list of all the other species that humans exploit. According to this organization, human activities endanger around 14,663 species. Among these species, humans consume 55% for food purposes. This includes mammals and fish.
